Digitized Astronomical Photographic Archives as Large Area Sky Survey of Large Amount of Astronomical Data
We report here on an investigation of astronomical plate archives and tests of the scanning devices for digitization of archival astronomical plates. These archives represent huge database of
historical astronomical data, astrometric, photometric, and spectroscopic, with many applications in modern astrophysics

Memory recaptured in a small community: preserving retouched photographic negatives, discussing visual culture
This paper focus on a private portrait photographic negatives collection belonging to Foto-Carvalho, a photo-graphic studio of Estremoz (north of Alentejo, Portugal). It explores the techniques, materials, and reasons behind retouching on photographic negatives; also, the validity of retouching in the search for the photographic truth. Studying dry plate photographic negatives from lesser-known collections isa special opportunity to take a closer look to a time and a place. This case study on a Portuguese community will bring new and valued insights to portrait photography and contributions to visual culture of the first half of the 20th century.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Vertical copy camera system provides photographs from ERTS-1 imagery
Versatility of commercially-available camera system permits wide range of enlargement (up to 10X) and reduction (down to 1/8) to be achieved with standard lenses. Use of easily interchangeable camera backs permits photographic formats from 35 mm to 10.2 X 12.7 cm (4 x 5 in) and permits easy use of black and white and color films and Polaroid materials

Built-in templates speed up process for making accurate models
From accurate scale drawings of a model, photographic negatives of the cross sections are printed on thin sheets of aluminum. These cross-section images are cut out and mounted, and mahogany blocks placed between them. The wood can be worked down using the aluminum as a built-in template
The preservation, storage, and handling of black-and-white photographic records
The subject of this article is the preservation of processed blackand-
white photographic records in libraries. Since silver gelatin photographic
films and papers have been around for about a century, and
since by far the largest number of black-and-white photographic images
are silver gelatin images, knowledge of the properties of these records
is extensive. Factors that may affect their stability are, for the most part,
well known.published or submitted for publicatio
